Japan's Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. has invested 100 million yuan (RMB) in the construction of smelter recently, which is expected to take effect in two years.

In addition, Japan's Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. makes decision to build another float glass furnace in Russia.  In order to meet the demand of local demand for glass, Asahi Glass plans to invest 135 million Euros (equivalent to 21 billion yen JPY) in the construction of the world largest glass smelter, which can realize the output of 1,000 MT per day.

The project will start in the second quarter of this year and is expected to complete by the beginning of 2009.
