Global supply of silicon wafer increases by 11% in Q1 2007
Recently SEMI announced that during January and March of 2007 fiscal year, the availability area of silicon wafer globally has increased by 11% over the same period of last year, reaching 2.1 billion square inches. Among them, 300 mm silicon wafer continues to grow and typically in Asia.
Chairman of SMG (SEMI Silicon Manufacturers Group) and Vice President, Volker Braetsch said that originally the first quarter is often the stagnated period for supply, but in the first quarter of 2007 there is little change contrasted with the last quarter of 2006. |
